INTERACTION & PRODUCTS

Role: Exploration, Electronics, Industrial Design

WHY AM I SHOWING YOU THIS PROJECT?

We interact with computers more than ever in the history of humankind. It has become obvious that this will be critical in the future of how we engage with our world - from the design of everyday things to architecture itself.

What is it about: These projects were undertaken as tests for a large experiential marketing company. They each represent ways to communicate and study how users interact with digital interfaces, how to organize why and how the digital world is merging with the physical, and how we can humanize the trend toward Artificial (or augmented) Intelligence.

The Key Learning: None of these are pure acts that can be undertaken alone. Each blends design, user testing, engineering, and creative thinking... and each required a repetition and sharing of ideas for a continuous feedback loop.

1. Spark: Igniting Conversation AI Platform (open pdf)

" Spark is an intelligent assistant that uses guest/consumer data to produce insightful discussion topics. The A.I. platform will learn through usage in order to create better future machine – human interfaces and interactions. "

2. Integrated Experience Design: Presentation (open pdf)

" Physical spaces and objects have always been connected to technology.

Advances in technology are changing the relationship from technology-as-a-tool to technology-as-an-object or physical space. A change that allows a new approach to physical design that responds to technology in fundamental ways. "

3. Trendr: Mood Board Generator Application (open web app alpha)

•Tool to generate inspiration / mood boards in the early phases of design.

•Engages clients in the process

•Highlights potential discrepancies between design ideas

•Aligns focus on what Look, Tone, Feel should be

•Can work for many outputs – spaces, graphics, architecture, interiors, etc.

•Generates data on what styles are trending across industries, clients, quarters/years.
